HOUGHTON, Mich. (AP) Evan Trupp scored twice and North Dakota
got four straight goals Saturday to beat Michigan Tech 4-1 for a
sweep their Western Collegiate Hockey Association series.
North Dakota won the opener 4-2 on Friday.
Trupp's power-play goal at 12:54 of the second period snapped a
1-1 tie and the Fighting Sioux (6-1-1, 4-1-1 WCHA) added two goals
in the final two minutes of the game, one by Trupp at 18:13 of the
third.
David Toews had a goal and an assist and Brad Malone added two
assists for UND. Jason Gregoire scored his fifth goal of the season
to close out the scoring.
Jordan Baker staked Michigan Tech (2-5-0, 1-4-0) to a 1-0 lead
with a power-play goal at 8:07 of the first period. It was the only
goal given up by UND goalie Brad Eidsness, who stopped 22 shots.
Kevin Genoe made 31 saves for the Huskies.
