Consumers Energy promotes energy plan

Consumers Energy is promoting its "Balanced Energy Initiative," a comprehensive plan to meet the energy needs of its 1.8 million electric customers over the next 20 years.

Included are plans to build a new 750-megawatt coal-fired generating plant, and a 500-megawatt natural gas plant.

The initiative also calls for meeting the growing customer demand for electricity with energy efficiency, demand management and expanding the use of renewable energy. More at www.consumersenergy.com
