Detroit (WWJ) -- Detroit police say they have solved a murder that happened more than 16 years ago.
WWJ's Stephanie Davis reports 42-year old Leslie Wilson was arrested in Georgia in connection in the 1993 murder of 18-year old Ladrell Clark whose body was found with wrapped in a drape. He had been shot several times.
"They (investigators) have put an end to alot of sorrow and misery our family has been through," Valerie Clark, Ladrell 's mother said Friday afternoon during a news conference at Detroit Police Headquarters. She encouraged other families who had loved ones murdered to not give up and "get Cold Cases on your case."
The Cold Case squad looks into unsolved murders.
Investigators say new information from witnesses who earlier were reluctant to talk to police and technology played a key in solving the case. A motive for the murder hasn't been determined.
Clark is expected to be brought back to Detroit to face charges.
