Warren (WWJ) -- A Warren police officer was taken to the hospital after he was slashed with a butcher knife during a scuffle.
Warren Police Commissioner William Dwyer says the 8-year veteran was attacked at a home near Groesbeck and Eight Mile roads Friday afternoon by a 20-year-old suspect.
The cop was taken to a local hospital with a three-inch gash on the side of his head but Dwyer says his injuries aren't considered life-threatening.
Dwyer says the officer was attacked at a home near a car wash where a disturbance had been reported.
The suspect will likely face assault with intent to murder and other charges.
