Port Huron (WWJ) -- U.S. and Canadian rescuers plan to resume their search at 9 a.m. Wednesday for a person who may have jumped into the St. Clair River from the Blue Water Bridge.
Witnesses told police they saw a person jumping from the bridge, which connects Port Huron with Ontario, just before noon Tuesday. Ontario Provincial Police say an abandoned vehicle with Michigan plates was located on the bridge's eastbound span closer to the Canadian side.
The St. Clair County Sheriff Department's marine patrol says divers searched the river until about 6 p.m. Ontario Provincial Police and Port Huron Fire Department boats, and a U.S. Coast Guard helicopter, also aided in the search.
