Police Shootout In Inkster



Inkster (WWJ)  -- Police in Inkster were investigating a shootout Friday morning that included some of their own officers.

Shortly after the shootout, police reportedly discovered the body of 26-year-old J Paul Baker inside the house on Rosewood Street near Middlebelt that officers had been called too.

WWJ Newsradio 950's Vickie Thomas spoke with Baker's sister, Cresha Baker. “Look at what city we're in. We're in Inkster. There's so much drama going on around here it's pathetic...There's always something wrong with somebody," she said.

When police first arrived in their patrol car, a vehicle was speeding away from the scene -- and someone inside that vehicle started shooting at police in the patrol car.


The suspect's vehicle crashed into a fire hydrant and three people were arrested, one with a gunshot wound in the leg. No officers were injured.
