Long lines formed this afternoon outside of a Walled Lake School where the Oakland County health department is distributing swine flu vaccinations.
WWJ Newsradio 950's Beth Fisher says about 1,000 people were in line before the doors opened at Geisler Middle School on West Pontiac Trail in Commerce Township.
The clinic will be open until 9pm. Thursday.
Meantime, Michigan's health department is seeing more cases of the H1N1 flu virus on the western part of the state.
WWJ spoke with Dr. Eden Wells, an epidemiologist with Michigan's Community Health department, who says there have been 9 swine flu-related deaths in the state since September.
Wells says, while it's frustrating and they are not pleased with the slow trickling-in of the vaccine, the good news is there is more and more vaccines on the way.
"As of today we have had 750,000 doses allocated to the state of Michigan. And 635,000 have already been ordered, or are already being shipped into the state. These numbers are already far greater today than they were last Friday," she said.
The most recent death reported Thursday is an Ottawa County man in his 50's, who also had other underlying illnesses that compounded the virus.
