More Upgrades To Metro's North Terminal

Romulus (WWJ)  -- Wayne County Airport Authority has completed phase two of its North Terminal with the completion of two new jet bridges.

Project Director Tom McCarthy tells WWJ Newsradio 950 the new bridgers will drasticly reduce boarding and exiting time for international flights at Metro Airport.

"What this will allow us to do now is have all of our gates in service, and still service the wide-body aircraft," McCarthy explained.

Construction of the new jet bridges was delayed because the site location was too close to the old Smith Terminal's Concourse "C".

The New North Terminal replaces the retired Smith Terminal.
