Lansing (AP) -- The Michigan Legislature does not appear to be in a big rush to finish its work on the upcoming fiscal year's budget.
Both the House and Senate have decided not to have sessions they had set for Sunday. The full Legislature will be back in Tuesday as it races to beat a Thursday deadline to erase a $2.8 billion budget deficit.
Legislative leaders and some members of key committees are expected to continue talks or meetings on specific budget issues Sunday.
Democratic House Speaker Andy Dillon and Republican Senate Majority Leader Mike Bishop have said they are making progress toward a budget deal.
