ConnecTech plans Energy Summit: On Oct. 30, Connect Tech of Livingston County wil present an all-day Energy Summit and Expo. The event will take place at Cleary University on Grand River Ave. in Genoa Township, between Brighton and Howell. Speakers from manufacturing, environmental, energy and education backgrounds will present on state-of-the-art technologies and the latest developments in green products. The event runs from 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and early registration tickets are available at $55 from the Brighton Chamber of Commerce. IABC Detroit Sept. 30 Meeting Spotlights Communication in the Film Industry: "Movies in Michigan -- What's in it for you?" is the topic of IABC Detroit's meeting from 11:45 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 30, at the Detroit Opera House. Insiders will discuss Michigan film industry happenings and how communication skills can transfer into the growing business field. Zell Lurie Institute to Host Annual Private Equity Conference: Bringing together private equity, investment banking and business leaders from across the country, The Samuel Zell & Robert H. Lurie Institute for Entrepreneurial Studies at the University of Michigan Ross School of Business will host its annual Michigan Private Equity Conference on Friday, Sept. 25 from 7:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Michigan Union. The event will feature a host of private equity leaders who will offer perspective on global and regional trends shaping the state of private equity. Experts from firms such as GE Capital, Huron Capital and AlixPartners LLP will participate in panel discussions that cover topics including limited and general partner trends, opportunities emerging as a result of market dislocation and the global decline in the automotive industry and its subsequent impact on private equity.
