Client Wins From Sept. 3

European Engineering Firm Boosts Productivity With  HyperWorks: Altair Engineering Inc., the Troy-based provider of technology and services, announced Thursday that High Modulus Europe, the UK office of a New Zealand-based supplier of composite technology and structural engineering services, has selected the HyperWorks simulation suite to enhance its composite design process. This decision is part of High Modulus' strategy to standardize its virtual composite design technology on HyperWorks tools throughout its global offices. The computer aided engineering suite and its integrated solver solution, RADIOSS, were selected because of their ease of use and ability to significantly decrease the timescales involved with complex composite structural design tasks. The HyperWorks suite and, in particular, its pre- and post-processors, solvers and optimization technologies are now being leveraged to deliver more efficient composite solutions to High Modulus' automotive, energy, architectural and general industrial clients in significantly reduced timescales. MiCTA picks Blackboard: MiCTA, a Saginaw-based national non-profit technology consortium, has selected Blackboard Inc. as an endorsed Learning Management System (LMS) vendor. MiCTA's competitive bidding process is rigorous, and enables the organization to evaluate technology-oriented and telecommunications solutions on behalf of its nationwide membership. When the competitive bidding process is finished, MiCTA members may select highly qualified vendors for telecommunications and technology-oriented products and services without incurring additional expense to conduct their own competitive bidding process. MiCTA can also negotiate volume discounts with its vendors that individual purchasers would not otherwise be eligible for. MiCTA, located at 515 N. Washington St., Suite 405 in Saginaw, represents thousands of non-profit entities from the higher education, K-12, healthcare, library, governmental and charitable sectors. Nationally, MiCTA seeks to resolve common voice, video and data issues, provide timely information on the latest communications technologies, participate in legislative and regulatory discussions that affect its membership with regard to these vital technologies, and purchase telecommunications, video, data, e-learning and emergency notification systems at substantial discounts for its membership.
