Your home on the Silver Screen? Submit Photos!

House Call!  Your home on the silver screen? Would you like to see your house in the movies?

The Michigan Film Office is asking state residents to post photos of their residences, businesses or properties online so they can be reviewed by producers and directors planning to film in Michigan.

“Offering the use of your home, land or business as a location can be fun and profitable,” said Michael Grabemeyer, locations manager for the Michigan Film Office.

“We are growing an exciting new industry in Michigan and this is one way that an average citizen can get involved,” he said.

Grabemeyer said the film office is asking residents interested in helping to create the new database to go to www. michiganfilmoffice.org and submit photos.

The Michigan Film Office reviews all submissions before posting them on the Web site, and reserves the right to withhold or correct any submissions.

A dozen films have already wrapped up production in Michigan this year, and nine other projects, including the television series “Motor City Motors,” are now in production, according to the state film office.

Michigan is now on the list of places considered by established filmmakers and producers as a place to shoot films and at least three studios, including one in Pontiac, are now in various stages of development in southeast Michigan.
