Detroit Police Shoot Man On Eastside

Detroit (WWJ)  -- Detroit police officers shot one man during an early Thursday morning shootout on the city's eastside.

WWJ's Vickie Thomas reports the gunfire started after Detroit Police stopped a car for a traffic violation on East Outer Drive near Van Dyke.

Ann Borum, who lives in the neighborhood says she heard nine or ten shots.  One bullet went through the front window of her home.  She was not injured.

"It was scary, it was so many bullets," she said.

Borum said one suspect from the car was shot.  Detroit police confirm the shooting, but didn't have additional details.

Police told Borum they are looking for two others who were in the car and ran from the scene.

The investigation is ongoing.
