Governor Recall Effort Fails

Lansing (WWJ)  -- A recall effort against Michigan Governor Jennifer Granholm has failed, for now.

Two state corrections officers, Paul and Shirley Pache, from northern Michigan filed recall language claiming the governor has put public safety at risk by closing eight state prisons and releasing thousands of criminals.

Wednesday morning a three member panel of Ingham County officials voted unanimously to reject the recall language saying it was too vague.

WWJ Lansing Bureau Chief Tim Skubick reports the officers are expected to be refine the language and try again for the recall.
