Staff Notices From July 6

Plante & Moran gets firm's sixth managing partner: Gordon Krater, CPA, became managing partner of Plante & Moran effective July 1. He is only the sixth managing partner since the firm was founded in 1924. Krater was elected to the four year term by the firm’s partners last October, and succeeds Bill Hermann, who has served as managing partner since July 2001. “During Bill Hermann’s tenure, the firm grew by expanding its geographic footprint and broadening service capabilities," Krater said. "I look forward to building on Bill’s accomplishments and continuing the core traditions of client service, staff development and community leadership that have been fundamental to our development over the years. Plante & Moran provides a unique, client-focused model that ensures we have great staff serving great clients. There will always be demand for professional service firms that put clients’ needs ahead of their own.” Krater joined Plante & Moran in 1980 after graduating from the University of Michigan. In those 29 years, he has served in a variety of positions, including most recently as group managing partner in charge of industry specializations. As managing partner, Krater will lead Plante & Moran in the continued development of capabilities and processes that anticipate and satisfy client needs. Krater also will continue to foster the firm’s great work environment, which attracts talented people to the firm and translates into enhanced client service. More at www.plantemoran.com.
