BBC to cover changes afoot at NIH: Biotechnology Business Consultants will hold a program on what's new at the National Institutes of Health Thursday, July 9 from 1 to 5 p.m. at the Michigan Information Technology Center, 1000 Oakbrook Drive in Ann Arbor. BBC says there are new grant opportunities, new peer review processes and changes to proposal formats afoot. BBC will be attending the NIH Regional Grant Seminar June 25-26 and the NIH Small Business Innovation Research - Small Business Technology Transfer conference June 30 - July 1 and will report back what it hears. Detroit's sixth annual Tech Crawl is going green. This year's Detroit Tech Crawl is Thursday, July 16. Participants will have the opportunity to learn about new, environmentally friendly materials, fuel technology, auto electronics, mapping systems and the latest advances in energy and thermal management. Companies and organizations featured at this year’s Tech Crawl will include Behr America, Icom North America, Intermap Technologies, NextEnergy and GKN Driveline. The “crawl” will begin with a 9 a.m. breakfast and presentations at MGM Grand in Detroit at 1777 Third Street. Following breakfast, you will be chauffeured in a “green” propane-fueled bus to NextEnergy`s campus in Detroit for a panel discussion and several additional presentations. The day will end with a cocktail reception in the luxurious Ignite Sushi Bar at MGM with a special “gambling for charity” competition.
