Lansing (WWJ) -- The annual policy conference has Michigan lawmakers congregated on Mackinac Island where taxes is sure to be a hot topic.
WWJ Lansing Bureau Chief Tim Skubick spoke with House Speaker Andy Dillan who is promoting a tax reform plan that is likely to include loophole closings.
"We need to look at the fact that some of them are antiquated and arent yielding results," said Dillan.
Dillan also stated that it's not neccessary to eliminate tax loopholes, but instead to take a percentage cut off of them. "This would help the state's business climate," he said.
The proponents of closing tax loopholes claim that it is not a tax increase. Opponents, however, are expected to claim that it is just that.
