Richmond, VA (AP) -- A legally blind hiking magazine editor who went missing along the Appalachian Trail in Virginia has been found in good condition.
Authorities say 41-year-old Kenneth Knight of Ann Arbor, Mich., was found around 5 p.m. Saturday. He was last seen on Sunday and friends had reported him missing when he failed to meet up with a group he was hiking with and then missed his flight home on Wednesday.
Knight is a production editor for Backpacking Light magazine.
Backpacking Light chief executive officer Ryan Jordan says Knight set a fire to attract attention, then was met by firefighters who were responding to the brush fire. It was several miles from where he was last seen.
Knight was being taken to a local hospital, but Jordan said he did not think Knight was injured.
