"Dana has his finger on the pulse of his students to show them their abilities to learn is unlimited. Dana has always been focused on the goals he has set for his students to achieve above and beyond what they think and feel.Dana's dedication in using his own expenses and materials far surpasses many teachers in the Field of Robotics in the inner city because he wants his student's to go where many in the inner city have never been before. And that is to succeed in whatever they put their minds to do.Dana Robinson should be the winner because of his tireless effort, his persistence, drive, and loyalty Chadsey High school students make a difference not only today, but our future tomorrow."

"Dana has enthusiastically dedicated so much of his after-school to the student robotics contests, that he has scarce time for anything else. I frequently see him at church exhausted, yet always wearing this self-satisfied grin because of his love for his students and their bright intensity."

Not only does Mr. Robinson make time for his Robotics team, but also he has a family that he makes time for. To know Mr. Robinson is to love Mr. Robinson."

"Mr. Robinson has worked in a hands-on capacity as a teacher of the students in the robotics program at Cooley High School and now at Chadsey. He works with the students on the conceptual, design, building and competitions phases of the program....

I have known Mr. Robinson as a personal friend and teacher for over 23 years. I am so proud to nominate him for this award. I do not know of a better man for the honor. He pours his heart and soul into his students as well as any child needing help. He will give his time and talents to them 7 days a week if he could doing all he can to ensure the academic and life-long success of the best and brightest as well as those who need an extra push of encouragement to achieve academic success. During his time at Cooley he coached a group of students, who had never participated in robotics, to a second place win in regional competition. Mr. Robinson has been a friend, a coach, a mentor, and a father figure to hundreds of children through the years. Even through times of of deep sorrow over the loss of his own daughter to cancer in 2007, he never stopped giving his time to his students. He is a brilliant man with a quiet and confident demeanor and has gained the love and respect of students and parents alike."

"Mr. Dana Robinson is a great example of what dedication to the education of children means. He has been actively involved with the Robotics program probably since its existence here in Michigan. Mr. Dana Robinson has been teaching since 1989 in the Detroit Public School system and he is definitely worthy of the honor of being First robotics teacher of the year. Dana Robinson is an extremely hard working and dedicated individual. He has a love for children and his desire is to help as many students as possible in their educational endeavors. He is dedicated to helping those individuals that are not as keen on education as others, nevertheless he perseveres to help all students regardless of their GPA's."
