Amy Klopman

Waterford Mott High School - Biology - 2 years with FIRST

What we've heard about Ms. Klopman:

"ery few teachers commit to their job to the extent that Amy Klopman does. Ms. Klopman deserves to be the 2009 FIRST Robotics Teacher of the year because of the amount of work she has put into this developing team. She has been able to unite our very diverse student body into creating an award winning robot. With her help, our team won the Top Seeded Rookie's award at the Great Lakes Regional.

Today, thanks to her hard work, we are back in the game with a brand new robot. During the build season she made sure we not only had the resources we needed, but was involved with the build from start to finish. She made sure everything was in place so that the team could not only compete when the build season was over, but also achieve what first is all about, learn. She was always open to new ideas and helped students expand on theirs. Not only did she make sure we got the job done, but she also helped students after.

She would always go above and beyond to make sure everybody had rides home and food when they were hungry. She took a lot of money straight from her pocket in order to support our team. In these harsh economic teams, one must admire someone who is so self-sacrificing that they spend valuable and money in order to help a bunch of kids built a robot. But, Ms. Klopman knows that it's much more then than just a robot. She knows that it is us who will design the world of tomorrow and will go to great lengths in order for us to have the greatest advantage possible."
