Bernie Simms

Seaholm High School - Robotics, Engineering Technology - 1st year with FIRST

What we've heard about Mr. Simms:

"Mr. Simms decided that this was the year for him and his students at Seaholm High to get involved in First Robotics. For us this was great news as our son was able to have this wonderful opportunity to be on the First team. Mr. Simms' dedication to his students is more than evident but we're sure that he thought long and hard before committing to First. On top of his heavy load of classes, he is a husband and father of 2 young children and he knew being part of first would take alot of time away from those responsibilties. Yet, he has taken on the challenge of building the robot wholeheartedly.

He works alongside his students, encouraging them with a calm manner and a great sense of humor. Designing and building a First robot has it's ups and downs but he has faced each and every challenge with a smile, a word of encouragement and lots of hours of labor. You can tell he loves the challenge and encourages the kids to be creative, work hard and never give up.  He has earned to right to win your First teacher of the year. We are hoping you agree."

"Mr Simms is very inspirational he got my daughter involved in Robotics at Seaholm... My daughter is a new stundent at Seaholm and to Michigan. He took the time to get her involved in Robotics and made he feel connected to a new school. He is very fun in the classroom and pushed the students to be the best they can be!"
