Detroit (WWJ) -- A flood warning was in effect Wednesday evening for the River Raisin at Blissfield and at Dundee. There had been some minor flooding in the area in the afternoon, but moderate flooding was expected later.

Residents throughout Metro Detroit were watching flood waters Wednesday following several inches of rain over the past week.
WWJ Newsradio 950's Ron Dewey reported that High Water Warning signs were posted along Powers Avenue in Dearborn Heights, where flood waters have spread for several blocks and is approaching the tailpipes on cars parked on the streets. The water is well over the curb and even some sidewalks.
The situation was also critical for people who live near Ore Lake in Hamburg Township because of flooding rains. Some residents were using buckets to keep water from seeping into their homes. Township officials have requested sand bagging equipment in an effort to hold the water back.
Flooding had also closed Halstead Road south of 14 Mile in Farmington Hills, as well as sections of Hines Drive in Wayne County.
