SUSTAINABLE ARCHITECHTURE: BUILDING A GREENER MICHIGAN
Join WWJ Newsradio 950 and experts from Lawrence Technological University and the U.S. Green Building Council for “Sustainable Architecture: Building a Greener Michigan” on Tuesday, Feb. 17. The event begins with hors d’oeuvres at 5:30 p.m., with the program running from 6 to 7:30 p.m. The venue is Lawrence Tech’s UTLC Gallery, 21000 W. 10 Mile Road in Southfield.
We’ll cover the economic and societal trends driving the shift toward sustainable architecture, what Michigan can do to brand itself as a “green belt,” and what opportunities this presents for economic development. We’ll also discuss designing efficiency into new and existing structures and the latest in green technologies. And we’ll explore efforts to promote green buildings in schools and the latest in university research.
Featured speakers include:
- Glen S. LeRoy, Urban Planner and Dean of the College of Architecture and Design at Lawrence Tech University
- Joseph C. Veryser, Director of Lawrence Tech's Center for Sustainability and Associate Dean of it's College of Architecture and Design
- Dan Jacobs, Director of Sustainability for A3C Collaborative Architects in Ann Arbor and Chair of the Green Schools Advisory Committee for the U.S. Green Building Council
- Ryan LaFontaine, General Manager of LaFontaine Automotive Group and green building owner.
Moderating will be Matt Roush, technology editor, WWJ Newsradio 950 and editor of the Great Lakes IT Report.
