I-75 Closed In Oakland County

Southfield (WWJ)  -- Michigan State Police say an Oakland County man was killed when he was hit by a tow truck on southbound I-75 Monday afternoon.

Troopers say a car broke down along the freeway near Sashabaw road and for some unknown reason the driver stepped into traffic and was hit.  The tow truck driver was questioned and released.  Troopers say it doesn't appear the tow truck driver was negligent.

Michigan State Police troopers say the victim is from Oakland Township.  His name wasn't released early Monday evening because relatives hadn't been notified.

The southbound lanes of I-75 were closed for more than three hours as police conducted an investigation.

Michigan State Police troopers also were investigating Monday afternoon accidents on I-75 near I-696 and along I-275 near Ann Arbor Road.  One person was airlifted to a hospital in Ann Arbor as a result of the crash along I-275.

Further details about the accidents weren't available.
