Azentek Demonstrates In-Car Computing At SEMA

Grand Blanc-based in-vehicle computer builder Azentek will be showing off big time at the 2008 SEMA Expo of automotive tech toys in Las Vegas.

Azentek will be showing off both its Atlas full-featured in-car computer and its SmartMirror replacement rear-view mirror with navigation system overlaid.

Visitors to Azentek's booth in the north hall will be greeted with a fast, fun automobile compliments of well-known hip-hop recording artist 50 Cent. Modified on the hit TV series "Unique Whips," 50 Cent's Pontiac G8 showcases both the Azentek Atlas and SmartMirror inside.

"The Atlas and SmartMirror from Azentek are two exciting products that people can add to their own unique whips at home!" commented Pete Muller, Azentek's VP of Sales & Marketing.  "Our knowledgeable staff will be on-site to provide live demonstrations of the Atlas and SmartMirror to give you a feel for the styling, convenience and technology that Azentek has to offer."

In the spirit of kicking back and relaxing at this year's show, Azentek will also be displaying a fully customized luxury van designed and built by Southern Comfort, the largest custom vehicle manufacturer in the United States. This highly stylized luxury van will allow guests to experience a full multimedia presentation of the Azentek Atlas while enjoying themselves in high-end comfort. Azentek's Atlas uses Seagate hard disc drives exclusively due to Seagate's reputation for quality and reliability. Seagate 160GB 2.5-inch hard drives are at the heart of this multimedia showcase with the capacity to catalog and provide access to 80 movies or 40,000 mp3 files.

Helping to satisfy everyone's need for speed, Jay Leno will also be on-site at SEMA with his GM EcoJet, a unique concept car powered by a 650-horsepower Honeywell LT-101 turbine engine with 400 foot-pounds of torque, running on biodiesel fuel.

Knowing that Leno's interior had to be just as technologically advanced as the rest of the vehicle, they turned to Azentek to fill the void. Azentek worked closely with Jay Leno's Big Dog Garage to design the EcoJet's dashboard around the Atlas system. Its long list of features includes Microsoft Windows Vista, Intel Core Duo processor, built-in Wi-Fi, voice recognition, AM/FM/XM/Sirius/HD Radio capability, Bluetooth, DVD player, CD rewriter, GPS navigation, Voice Over Internet Protocol capabilities, real-time engine diagnostics, and much more.  On display in the General Motors booth and filmed by Speed TV, this Leno original will be fired up and driven for the first time during the 2008 SEMA Show.

Azentek will soon be launching a complete line of in-car computers, beginning with the Atlas CPC-1000, in early 2009.
