Rob Schneider Film Shooting In Detroit

Detroit (WWJ)  -- If you want a big break in the movie business, you don't have to move to California. Metro Detroit looked more like Hollywood as the new film "Virgin On Bourbon Street" started filming Wednesday.

Rob Schneider and Jenna Dewan star in the sexy romantic comedy described as a cross between "40 Year Old Virgin" and "Superbad."

While movie extras won't be compensated, there will be opportunities to win great prizes including plasma TV's, video game consoles and much more.

WWJ's Vickie Thomas reports filming started Wednesday morning in Greektown.  Plans called for an Octoberfest party scene on the streets of Greektown.  Extras are asked to wear outerwear with no logos and you must be 18 years old.

Extras are also needed for Thursday, Oct 30th in Greektown for the same type of Octoberfest party.  Click here to check up on the latest information for extras and filming.

The film will be shot entirely on location in Greektown, Indian Village, other downtown Detroit locations and at Orchard Lake St Mary’s Preparatory School in Orchard Lake.

Over ninety percent of the production crew is Michigan based – a first since the Michigan Film Incentive Law was enacted, and most of the Screen Actor Guild speaking roles will go to Michigan based talent being cast by talent agency, Real Style of Birmingham, Michigan.

Additionally, many local vendors are being utilized for catering, lighting and grip equipment, camera equipment, hospitality and transportation, pumping millions of dollars into the local economy.
