Center For Michigan To Host Candidate Town Hall Forum On Entrepreneurialism And Economic Diversification

House Candidates from Wayne, Oakland and Macomb Counties will participate in a candidate town hall forum on Monday, October 20, at 7 p.m. at the ePrize headquarters in Pleasant Ridge.

The candidates, from older-ring communities along the 8 mile corridor, will discuss the entrepreneurial and economic diversification strategies of Michigan’s Defining Moment Common Ground Agenda for Michigan’s Transformation. Entrepreneurs, millennials, creatives.

The 6th, 27th, 28th, 35th State House District Candidates Fred Durhal, Jr., Ellen Cogen-Lipton, Lesia Liss, Vincent Gregory will participate.

The forum, sponsored by the non-profit, nonpartisan Center for Michigan, will focus on key “common ground” issues that have emerged from 180 “community conversations” held by the Center across the state in the past year.  More than 1,800 participants in those meetings developed three priorities for Michigan’s future -- 1) a globally competitive workforce; 2) a diversified economy and great quality of life; and 3) effective, efficient and accountable government – and numerous strategies to make that vision a reality.

Everyone with a strong interest in transforming Michigan is encouraged to attend the forum, and admission is free.

ePrize Headquarters is located at 1 ePrize Drive in Pleasant Ridge.

Those wishing to attend are asked to RSVP by sending email to info@thecenterformichigan.net or call Center for Michigan outreach coordinator Kimberly Johnson at (248) 321-8635.
