Pontiac (WWJ) -- A judge in Pontiac Tuesday ordered Nathaniel Abraham to stand trial on charges of drug possession stemming from an arrest 15 months after he was released for a murder he committed when he was 11.
WWJ's Florence Walton was at 50th District Court as two law enforcement officers testified during the 22-year-old's preliminary examination.
Michigan State Police Trooper Chad Gruenwald testified as to what he found in the trunk of Abraham's car the night of May 30th at a Pontiac gas station. "I observed different colored pills consistent with the pills my experience on the road has produced positive results for the chemical Ecstasy."
250 Ecstasy were inside Abraham's car, according to testimony.
Judge Michael Martinez said there is probable cause to bind Abraham over to Oakland County Circuit Court.
Defense attorney Byron Pitts argued unsuccessfully to get the case dismissed, saying that police lacked probable cause to conduct a search.
Abraham was convicted of second-degree murder for killing 18-year-old Ronnie Greene of Pontiac in 1997 and finished serving a juvenile sentence in January 2007.
