MetroPCS Teams Up With Billups

Dallas-based MetroPCS Communications Inc. (NYSE: PCS), the provider of unlimited, flat-rate wireless services, announced it had teamed up with NBA star and Detroit Piston Chauncey Billups.

MetroPCS will be using Chauncey’s image in upcoming promotions, as well as television public service announcements. Also, MetroPCS is sponsoring the Pistons overall. .

“It makes sense for me to team up with MetroPCS,” Billups said, “I love its philosophy – ‘Unlimit yourself,’ which is what I do on the court every day I play.”

MetroPCS owns or has access to licenses covering a population of approximately 149 million people in 14 of the top 25 largest metropolitan areas in the United States. As of March 31, MetroPCS has approximately 4.4 million subscribers and offers service in the Miami, Orlando, Sarasota, Tampa, Atlanta, Dallas, Detroit, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Sacramento and Las Vegas metropolitan areas.
