California Tech Company Seeks Engineers In Ann Arbor

A company founded out of University of Michigan research that moved its headquarters to California now wants to grow in Ann Arbor.

Sunnyvale, Calif.-based Mobius Microsystems has launched a new design center in Ann Arbor where it will conduct research and product development activities for its proprietary CMOS Harmonic Oscillator technology.

The company also hopes to attract local engineering talent as it expands its workforce.

Mobius Microsystems, a venture capital backed fabless semiconductor start-up, is an innovator in precision timing integrated circuits, and is the first company to implement highly accurate timing generators entirely in standard CMOS. This is a significant technical breakthrough in timing generation, which up to now was served by quartz crystals and crystal oscillators.

The company employs 20 people in its California and Michigan locations and maintains a network of sales representatives and distributors in Taiwan, Korea, Japan and China.

Mobius was founded in 2004 by Dr. Michael McCorquodale based on his dissertation research at the University of Michigan. Earlier this month, Mobius announced its patented technology and accompanying products to the worldwide press.

The new Michigan center is at 315 E. Eisenhower Parkway, Suite 202, Ann Arbor, MI 48108.
