Dad & Daughter Give 'D' Development High Marks

Detroit (WWJ)  -- While members of the Downtown Detroit Partnership were listening to their annual update on the city's progress, WWJ Newsradio 950's Pat Sweeting got input from a man who's been away from Detroit for years.

Crystal, Michigan firefighter Michael Gooding and his daughter took a look at parts of the downtown area over the weekend. It's been quite awhile, Gooding said, since he last visited Detroit.

"The last time I was down here was for a Tiger's game, down at Tiger's Stadium," he said. "And, that last time the city wasn't in really good shape. Then being down here this weekend, it's unbelievable the changes that a few years make," he said.

Gooding is thinking about coming back for the Detroit Grand Prix in August. His daughter, 10-year-old Annika, has something a little more permanent in mind. The city made quite an impression on her during the visit and she told her dad  she's ready to move in.
