Southfield (WWJ)  -- The husband of a missing Toledo lawyer is asking people to pray for his wife's safe return.  Bishop Lawrence Hancock told police his wife, Karyn McConnell-Hancock, disappeared Wednesday night.  She's six months pregnant.

Reached at his church Friday morning, Lawrence Hancock told WWJ to pray for his wife before hanging up the phone.

Dan Bumpus with WTOL, CBS-TV in Toledo, tells WWJ McConnell-Hancock's cell phone has been shut off and she's been confronted by an aggressive client. WTOL reported that a former client sued her last month. Plaintiff, Maurice Morris, claims punitive damages and attorney fees as a result of criminal and illegal acts. Morris claims McConnell-Hancock settled his personal injury case without permission and kept the $10,000 settlement.

Her car, a black 2005 Chrysler 300 with Ohio license plate DIA 6410, is also missing. 

Toledo's mayor, Carty Finkbeiner, issued a statement saying he's praying for the family and a safe return.

Police did not indicate whether they suspect foul play in her disappearance, but those close to McConnell-Hancock say these actions aren't like her.

McConnell-Hancock served as a Toledo City Council member from 2003 thru 2006 and has been practicing law since 1998.  Her father serves as a Toledo municipal court judge.
