Writing: A Public Teen Activity
|
Writers love to see that their words have an impact on other people. Help your adolescent make writing a public activity in their electronic neighborhood!
Many teens love connecting with friends through MySpace or Facebook. These electronic networking spaces make it easy for anyone to create groups around particular interests.
Suggest this idea to your teen. Tell them create or join an electronic group on a subject they are passionate about. Teens in these groups write about their thoughts and ideas and may do research on a topic. Often, they take the writing even farther by coming together to take action on issues of importance.
All this practice with writing, in a forum they enjoy, helps teens become more flexible and fluent writers for any occasion.
