Worries over Toys Made in China?
|
With more and more news stories about the safety concerns over toys that are made in China, many parents are looking to buy toys made elsewhere. This poses a great challenge to US parents.
According to the Toy Industry Association, roughly 80% of all toys sold here in the US are made in China. Parents may want to start by visiting locally-owned and operated toy stores. The staff is usually knowledgeable about their stock of toy’s countries of origin.
With all of the bad publicity lately, they may even have a list of all of their toys that were manufactured in countries other than China; all you need to do is ask to see it. Once you’ve found the perfect toy, be aware that you may end up paying slightly more for it than a toy that was produced in China.
