The Woodward Dream Cruise is the world's largest one-day celebration of classic car culture, attracting more than 1 million visitors and over 40,000 muscle cars, street rods, custom, collector and special interest vehicles. The Cruise travels on Woodward Avenue from Ferndale to Pontiac.
This year's cruise takes place on Saturday, August 16.
Anyone can take part in Saturday's Woodward Dream Cruise. If you're in a cruiser, get in the right two lanes. If you're in the regular beater, stay in the left two lanes.
Join WWJ Newsradio 950 at the annual Bloomfield Township Classic Car Show on Dream Cruise day, from 1- 5 p.m. at Mercedes Benz of Bloomfield Hills. You'll experience an eclectic mix of special interest cars, great food, and entertainment. Bleacher seating will provide a perfect view for some of the best action along the famed avenue. Admission is free and parking is only $5.

Berkley
This town takes a back seat to nobody when it comes to celebrating the Woodward Dream Cruise. There is fun for everybody in Berkley, including music, food and dancing. Then there are the wheels. Get an eyeful of dreams at the 2008 Berkley CruiseFest and fill the memory bank with classic memories at the official Woodward Dream Cruise Classic Car Parade.
Birmingham
People who love automobiles will find more than a place to stand and watch the rides go by in Birmingham. Walk around downtown Birmingham and review more than 1,000 classic cruisers parked on the streets. Two city businesses will host fund-raisers on behalf of the good causes served by the Woodward Dream Cruise. There also will be live entertainment and fun for youngsters.
Bloomfield Township
You can escape from the congestion and enjoy a great view at Bloomfield Township's Woodward Dream Cruise Classic Car Show and Community Party. The Classic happens at Mercedes Benz of Bloomfield Hills on Woodward, just south of Big Beaver. There, you can family fun and a great view of the cruisers.
Ferndale
Freewheelin' Ferndale celebrates in style with the 8th International Emergency Vehicle Show, the Ferndale Classic Car Show, Ford Mustangs, big-time rock and roll shows, and tons more fun. The community also will host the official ribbon-cutting ceremony starting the official 2008 Woodward Dream Cruise.
Huntington Woods
There's fun for all ages in Huntington Woods. On Friday, parents and kids will enjoy the Family Party at Chase Bank. On Saturday, there's also carnival-type fun, live entertainment and food at Huntington Woods Recreation Center. Both events require pre-registration, in-person.
Pleasant Ridge
This community helps us drive us into the future with NextCruise. The new event will showcase next-generation, environmentally friendly transportation that is still a great deal of fun to drive. Included will be hybrids, clean diesels and other high-mileage and low-emission designs.
Pontiac
The city at the top of Woodward Avenue hosts a boffo Woodward Dream Cruise celebration, making it easy to see why they call the city "Wide Track Town." While Phoenix Plaza and the downtown are filled with live music, fair from local restaurants, and streets filled with some of the best people and hottest cars anywhere. And join 99.5 WYCD for Live country music on the Cruisin Country Stage – Friday and Saturday, noon - 9 p.m., at Saginaw and Huron in front of the Courthouse
Royal Oak
Hot rods big and small fill the avenue and great music fills the air in Royal Oak. Families will enjoy music by Scoot Magoo on Thursday and the Kids Zone at Memorial Park on Friday. Most everybody can enjoy The Royal Oak Grand National, a professional race featuring quarter-scale NASCAR Radio Control vehicles racing at Northwood Shopping Center.

Climb aboard an important piece of our world's history. In celebration of the 100th anniversary of the Model T, the Henry Ford Museum and Greenfield Village will provide free rides on actual, running Ford Model T's. The fun's today (Thursday) at Campus Martius Park, downtown Detroit.
Woodward Dream Cruise Days
There's great fun to be had in Downtown Detroit on Thursday and Friday with food, kids games, and a special pitch at the Detroit Tigers game. The first pitch will be thrown by racing legend, Penske team grand prix driver and winner of "Dancing with the Stars," Helio Castroneves. Meanwhile, hundreds of cruiser cars, tons of food, and lots of kids games will fill Madison Street between Comerica Park and the Detroit Opera House. Live entertainment will abound, courtesy of Motor City Casino Hotel. Then, the Detroit River Conservancy throws an enormous MotorCities bash at the Detroit Opera House GM Cafe & Patio.
World's Biggest Drive-In
Big Boy is transforming the State Fairgrounds into the world’s largest drive-in restaurant, complete with the tray that fits on your window. There will be car-side or family friendly picnic food service. And there'll be live music. Friday and Saturday at the Michigan State Fairgrounds.
The 2008 Woodward Dream Cruise is part of Autopalooza August and Michigan's Year of the Car celebration, a collaborative effort organized and sponsored by the MotorCities National Heritage Area, an organization dedicated to preserving, interpreting and promoting the automotive heritage of Michigan.
