Southfield (WWJ) -- A winter storm arrived in southeast Michigan Sunday afternoon and snow is expected to continue falling through Monday afternoon.
The National Weather Service posted a winter advisory for all of southeast Michigan until 4 p.m. Monday. The advisory area includes Wayne, Macomb and Oakland counties. Most of the snow was expected north and west of Detroit. As much as -6 inhces of snow is possible.

Wet, slushy and in some cases snow-covered roads were causing problems mid-Sunday afternoon. WWJ's traffic reporter Liz Decker was reporting a number of accidents along I-75 near Grange Hall Road and along westbound I-96 in western Oakland County.

Windy and colder Sunday night into Monday morning with snow, accumulating an additional 1-2 inches. Watch for slippery spots. Low 28. Higher amounts from this system will be found in northern counties, 3-6 inches.
Cloudy and and brisk the rest of Monday with some leftover snow showers. High 39.
Tuesday: Brisk and cold with some sun. High 36.
Wednesday: Brisk and cold with a snow or rain shower possible. High again 36.
Thursday: mostly cloudy, breezy and cold with snow possible. High 30.
