While in life, good things may come to those who wait, in college admissions, good things come to those who are early or on time with applications.
Many colleges have a rolling admissions and financial aid cycle, with those applying first having a better opportunity to enroll and receive full financial aid. Later in the cycle, the money available may already be committed.
Work with your child on a calendar of deadlines, and on making sure that he or she is aware of what is due when. This planning and time management is a key skill for college, where students need to take responsibility for planning their time around their deadlines.
