Investor Education @ your library

Investor Education @ your library

Investor Education @ your library is a first-of-its-kind, non-commercial national public education and awareness campaign designed to help individuals make informed investment decisions.

Made possible through a partnership between the Investor Protection Trust, Michigan Office of Financial and Insurance Services and the American Library Association, it's a first-of-its-kind, FREE non-commercial national public education and awareness campaign.

"Knowledge and action are crucial components of being a savvy investor," says Don Blandin, president and CEO, Investor Protection Trust.

"Too often investors are uninformed and don't take necessary action steps such as checking the background of the financial professionals to whom they entrust their money.  To be safe and wise investors, Americans must learn the essentials and use that knowledge to make good investing decisions."

Held at libraries across the state, the workshop presents:

- An overview of the financial markets and the major exchanges

- The fundamentals of stocks, bonds and mutual funds

- Key investment terms

- Investing misconceptions and caveats

- How to select a financial services provider

- How to protect yourself from investment fraud

- Three components for building your wealth.

The presentation and optional counseling sessions are both FREE.  To register, click on a workshop date at right.
