Weather Causes Trouble for Thousands

Detroit (WWJ)  -- An estimated 9,000 DTE customers were without service Thursday, following thunderstorms that rolled across town Wednesday evening.  Power lines were reported down in Mount Clemens, which by itself knocked 2,000 customers offline in Macomb County.

DTE spokesman John Austerberry told WWJ that 30,000 customers had lost power at some point.

That same storm caught some boaters off guard on Lake St. Clair.  The Coast Guard had to rescue two teens who were stranded on Jet-Skis, while helicopters were sent out to guide a pair of boats back to shore.

Here's the Accuweather forecast:
Today: Some sunshine, hot and humid. High 91.
Partly cloudy, warm and humid tonight. Low 72.
Tomorrow: Partly sunny, breezy, hot and humid. High 91.
Saturday: Clouds and some sun, warm and humid with a couple of showers and a thunderstorm. High 88.
