Detroit (WWJ) - During Detroit's first annual International River Days festival, WWJ Newsradio 950 broadcast live all day from the Riverwalk. Listen to the podcast highlights at right.
The Detroit Riverfront Conservancy hopes the new Detroit Riverwalk will bring more people back downtown. New portions are now open included Rivard Plaza, at the foot of Rivard Street and the river, along with a plaza at Gabriel Richard Park, just east of the Belle Isle Bridge.
All in all, more than 75 percent of the East Riverfront is open and walkable, and the new River Carousel is up and running. For more about improvements along the Detroit Riverfront, visit www.detroitriverfront.org/.
