I-75 In Detroit, both directions of I-75 will be closed at Cass Avenue for bridge demolition this weekend. Cass is located between Woodward Avenue and Rosa Parks, in very close proximity to the Gateway project. The bridge work is part of the Gateway project. The closure is scheduled to begin at 9:00 p.m. on Friday and end by 5:00 a.m. on Monday.

Northbound traffic will be detoured onto Northbound M-10 to East I-94 back to North I-75. Southbound traffic will be detoured onto Southbound I-375 to Westbound Jefferson Avenue to Northbound M-10 to West I-94 to South I-275 back to South I-75. Local traffic can utilize either M-39 or US-24 to access Southbound I-75.

In Oakland County, Northbound and Southbound I-75 will be restricted to a single lane from I-696 to 8 Mile Road for on-going bridge work. The double lane closure is scheduled to begin at 9:00 p.m. on Friday and end at 5:00 a.m. on Monday.

Southbound I-75 will be reduced to a single lane from Crooks to Maple beginning at 7:00 a.m. and ending at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday.

Southbound I-75 will have two lanes open (out of three) beginning at 7:00 a.m. on Sunday until early December from M-15 to Giddings Road. This is for bridge work. Starting next week during the overnight hours, Southbound will be reduced to a single lane weekdays beginning at 7:00 p.m. and ending at 5:00 a.m. the following morning's from M-15 to Giddings Road. This is for resurfacing from M-15 to Giddings.

I-75 Southbound between Rosa Parks Boulevard and Woodward, the two left lanes are blocked until Saturday.

The I-75 bridge project in Northern Oakland County (Maple to M-15) is underway with a single lane closure Southbound from Crooks to Maple, and Northbound lane closure from Maple to Long Lake. Those lane restrictions will remain in place until early December.

I-75 Southbound between I-696 and 9 Mile, the left lane remains closed. Single lane closures scheduled through mid-August.

In Oakland County, Eastbound and Westbound Long Lake Road and Big Beaver will have single lane closures under I-75 beginning at 7:00 a.m. and ending at 7:00 p.m. daily until next Friday. This is for ongoing bridge work.

I-75 Southbound between Gibraltar Road and I-275 is reduced to two lanes. Northbound traffic is restrictd to one lane. Scheduled through early January.

The I-75 Southbound ramp to North Huron River Drive is closed through January of 2009.

Construction on I-75 Southbound between Clark Street and Springwells Street has the roadway reduced to one lane.

I-75 in both directions between I-96 and Clark Street remain closed due to the long-term Gateway project running through late 2009. Try I-94, Fort Street or Southfield as possible alternates.

TRAVELING THROUGH TOLEDO ON I-75

Expect intermittent lane and ramp closures in both directions of I-75 from I-280 to the Michigan line for pavement resurfacing. Delays are possible. Project complete: August 2008. All work is weather permitting.

Daily from 6:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m., single lane closures are possible in both directions of I-75 from the Ohio/Michigan border to I-280. Evenings from 8:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m., I-75 may be restricted to one lane in both directions from Ohio/Michigan border to I-280.

Intermittent shoulder closures are possible on I-75 at the Lincoln Avenue Bridge. Intermittent overnight lane restrictions are possible from 8:00 p.m. until 6:00 a.m. on I-75 at the Lincoln Avenue Bridge. Lincoln Avenue at I-75 is closed to vehicles and pedestrians until September for bridge repair. Alternate route: Monroe Street to Lawrence Avenue. Project complete: September 2008. All work is weather permitting.

Motorists can expect lane restrictions from 8:00 p.m. until 6:00 a.m. overnight Sunday through Friday on I-75 in both directions from North Baltimore to South Route 25 in Cygnet for pavement repairs. Project complete: October 2008. All work is weather permitting.

I-94 The Eastbound I-94 ramp to 23 Mile Road remains closed until Monday, July 21st.

The complete rebuild of I-94 (in both directions) between Gratiot Avenue and Fred Moore Highway is underway. The highway is reduced to one lane in each direction. This project is expected to be completed by mid-November. In conjunction, the Rattle Run overpass above I-94 is closed.

I-96 In Detroit, Eastbound and Westbound I-96 will be reduced to a single lane between West Grand Boulevard and Livernois from 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. daily until Thursday.

The left two lanes are closed on Westbound I-96 from Martin Luther King Boulevard to Warren Avenue, Eastbound traffic can access the Ambassador Bridge via the posted detour. The closures are a part of the Ambassador Bridge Gateway project.

I-96 Westbound ramp to Wixom Road is closed until late July. The entire interchange project runs through November. As part of that project, the Wixom Road ramps to I-96 East and West are closed until late July. During the project, all three lanes of I-96 will remain open in each direction during peak travel periods.

I-275 The following ramps are closed at the I-275/7 Mile Road interchange in Livonia:

  • Eastbound 7 Mile Road entrance ramp to Northbound I-275
  • Southbound I-275 exit to Eastbound 7 Mile Road
  • Westbound 7 Mile Road entrance to Northbound I-275
  • Northbound I-275 exit to Westbound 7 Mile Road

In conjunction, 7 Mile Road is reduced to a single lane in each direction over I-275. Detours are posted for each ramp closure. Lane closures on I-275 will be during off-peak travel periods and the project is expected to be completed in late July.

I-696 In Macomb County, Westbound I-696 will have the two left lanes closed (two right lanes remain open) from Hayes to Hoover beginning at 8:00 p.m. Friday and ending at 5:00 a.m. on Monday. The lane restrictions are needed for pavement repair.

M-10 M-10 Southbound ramp to I-94 Eastbound ramp is closed until late 2009 as part of the Gateway project.

M-10 Northbound ramp to I-94 Westbound ramp is scheduled to be closed until late 2009 as part of the Gateway project.

M14 M-14 in both directions between Gotfredson Road and the Ford Road exit, there will be single lane closures scheduled through late September. Work is scheduled through the off-peak hours.

Ford Road ramp to M-14 Westbound. Lane closures Monday-Friday, 7:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. and 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. weekends. Project is scheduled through September and will include repairs to the Joy and Gotfredson ramps as well.

In Lapeer County, single lane closures are scheduled on M-24 in both directions between Pratt Road and I-69. The work will continue until late September.

M25 M-25 between Lynn Road and the Sanilac/St.Clair county line, there will be lane closures due to a resurfacing and widening project scheduled through July 31st.

M53 In Macomb County, intermittent one and two lane closures on Northbound and Southbound M-53 between 15 Mile Road and 18 Mile Road in Sterling Heights. The lane restrictions will begin at 8:00 p.m. on Friday and end at 5:00 a.m. on Monday.

M59 M-59 between Grand River and Oak Grove Road/Michigan Street, lane closures scheduled in the area through October.

US-12 One lane of US-12 is blocked in both directions at Greenfield Road as crews rebuild the Greenfield Road overpass through September 19th.

There will be lane closures in both directions of US-12 in Ypsilanti at Ford Boulevard.

Resurfacing 16.5 miles of US-12 in Hillsdale and Branch counties has begun. The second portion of this project is underway from Jonesville to just east of Moscow Road in Hillsdale County.

US-23 Northbound US-23 ramps to Eastbound & Westbound I-94, lane shift Monday through July 21st.

US-23 between Owen Road and Torrey Road, single lane closures both ways through August 25th.

US-24 Roadwork is underway on a 1.5-mile stretch of US-24 in Brownstown Township between West and Carter roads, which also include modifications to the Telegraph Road intersection at Dix-Toledo Road. Initially, traffic will be reduced to a single lane in each direction. The intersection of Telegraph Road and Dix-Toledo Road will be closed. This project is expected to fully open to traffic in December 2008.

Construction continues on Telegraph Road between Ann Arbor Trail and Warren in Dearborn Heights. Two-way traffic is now sharing the newly repaved and rebuilt Southbound lanes, while construction has shifted to the Northbound lanes. Work on this project is projected to conclude sometime close to Labor Day.

OUTSTATE CONSTRUCTION

Calhoun/Eaton County: I-69 from I-94 to Island Highway, single lane closures both ways through August 29th.

I-75 In Birch Run, work will be underway on I-75 in both directions between Birch Run and Bridgeport Road. Expect lanes closures through fall. Wednesday through Saturday, three Northbound lanes and two Southbound lanes will be open. Saturday through Wednesday, two Northbound lanes and three Southbound lanes will be maintained.

There will be intermittent lane closures on I-75 Northbound between Bristol Road and I-675. Closures are scheduled through early September.

I-75 Northbound at the Zilwaukee Bridge closure HAS BEEN EXTENDED through at least sometime in July. I-675 North is the alternate. Local traffic can access M-81 and M-13.

In the Bay City area, I-75 (in both directions) between M-84 and US-10 will see lane closures through mid-November. Saturday through Wednesday, 3 lanes will be open Southbound, 2 lanes Northbound. Wednesday to Saturday, 3 lanes will be open Northbound with 2 lanes Southbound.

Cheboygan City: I-75 at Trowbridge Road, single lane closure both ways through July 18th.

Cheboygan City: Southbound I-75 down to one lane from Riggsville Road to Topinabee Mail Route Road (mile markers 322 to 316) through August 1st.

In Toledo, there is roadwork on I-75 near Summit Street.

In Toledo there is construction on I-75 in both directions between East Alexis Road and I-280. There will be double lane closures evenings between 8:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. Expect single lane closures between 6:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m.

Work continues on I-75 between North Baltimore and South ramp 25 in Cygnet. There are lane restrictions in place in both directions.

The two right lanes of I-75 Southbound are closed between Detroit Avenue and Collingwood Boulevard.

I-94 Eastbound & Westbound I-94 from Sandstone Road to West Avenue, single nighttime lane closures through August 2nd.

Eastbound and Westbound I-94 from Sandstone Road to West Avenue will see single nighttime lane closures 8:00 p.m. - 7:00 a.m. through August 2nd.

In Kalamazoo County, there will be single lane closures on I-94 between 40th Street to Helmer Road through August 29th.

Jackson City: Westbound I-94 ramp to Dearing closed through August 16th.

Jackson City: Dearing ramp to Eastbound I-94 closed through August 16th.

There will be nighttime lane closures on Eastbound and Westbound I-94 at US-131 through November 15th.

In Berrien County, I-94 between US-12 and Union Pier there will be single lane closures scheduled in both directions until October 28th.

In Kalamazoo, there is major work on the I-94 and US-131 interchange affecting the following ramps:

  • Eastbound I-94 ramp to Northbound US-131 closed
  • Westbound I-94 ramp to Southbound US-131 closed
  • Westbound I-94 ramp to Northbound US-131 closed
  • Eastbound I-94 ramp to Southbound US-131 closed

This project is slated to run through November.

In Battle Creek, the I-194/Dickman Road interchange remains closed.

I-196 Scribner Avenue will be closed over I-196 through July 27th.

In Grandville, I-196 Eastbound at 28th Street SouthWest construction has the roadway reduced to just one lane from Kenowa through East of 28th Street. Traffic is being detoured onto M-6.

The Westbound I-196 ramp to Chicago Drive remains closed. The Chicago Road ramps to I-196 are closed as well.

The 44th Street ramp to Westbound I-196 is closed.

The Eastbound Phoenix Road ramp to Northbound I-196 is closed.

US-2 West of St. Ignace, US-2 remains closed at the Cut River Bridge. A short detour has been posted.

US-10 There is a single lane closure in both directions of US-10 between M-30 and Bay City Road, through November 15th.

US-23 1.6 miles of US-23 from the bridge over the Thunder Bay River to north of French Road in the city of Alpena, Alpena County. Traffic will be maintained using traffic shifts and lane closures. US-23 will have one lane available for each direction. Traffic at the US-23 and Long Rapids/Johnson Street intersection is being maintained using a 4-way stop.

US-27 In Clinton County, Old US-27 is closed in both directions between M-21 and Steel Street. Traffic is being detoured via US-127

US-31 In Oceana County, US-31 will have single lane closures in both directions between Winston Road and M-20.

North of Petoskey US-31 between Shaw Road and Graham Road, a widening and resurfacing project is underway.

Kalamazoo County: Parkview Avenue bridge over US-131 closed until July 25th.

US-31 US-127 North of M-50, single lane closures both ways through August 14th.

US-127 between White Road and Loomis Road, there is a traffic shift in place affecting both directions.

In Hillsdale/Lenawee County: US-127 South of the city of Hudson, one lane open with traffic alternating via temporary traffic signal.

US-127 between the cities of Jackson and Leslie, down to one lane each way.

US-131 In Kalamazoo, there is major work on the US-131/I-94 interchange affecting the following ramps:

  • The Northbound US-131 ramp to Westbound I-94 closed
  • Northbound US-131 ramp to Eastbound I-94 closed

This project is slated to run through November.

Northbound & Southbound US-131 at Parkview Avenue, nighttime lane closures through July 25th.

In Rockford, the ramp from 10 Mile Road to Southbound US-131 is closed for reconstruction. The Southbound on-ramp from Post Drive to US-131 remains closed for construction as well.
