Trubiquity Buys German EDI Software Maker

Rochester Hills-based Trubiquity Wednesday announced it had acquired the assets and business operations of Mosaic Software AG.

Based in Meckenheim, Germany, Mosaic Software AG is a provider of commercial electronic data interchange software products for customers in the retail, manufacturing and finance markets.

Offering an EDI-trade portal (web and classic EDI) for customers and installed EDI software and consulting services for business-process optimization (EDI, SCM and ECR), Mosaic Software AG product offerings allow organizations to connect and collaborate across a variety of industries and business functions.

Trubiquity and Mosaic signed the contract on July 1, 2008. Financial terms of the acquisition were not released.

“With Mosaic’s proven solutions and customer base, Trubiquity now has the ability to provide EDI-based business process automation solutions to customers worldwide, regardless of industry,” said Nino DiCosmo, president and CEO of Trubiquity.

Trubiquity’s current EDI capabilities were a direct result of its acquisition of European-based Secorex and its acquisition of U.S.-based Trinary Systems. The ongoing operations of Mosaic Software AG will continue uninterrupted under the name Trubiquity Systems GmbH.

“We look forward to teaming with Trubiquity and combining the EDI capabilities of both organizations,” said Rolf Mugrauer, CEO of Mosaic Software AG. “This partnership will support our customers’ best-in-class EDI solutions to use worldwide.”

Trubiquity provides business process automation and global data exchange software for manufacturers and suppliers. The company provides a single, software-as-a-service-based business process network connecting enterprises across all global communication protocols and standards.

Trubiquity’s systems can be accessed all the time, everywhere around the globe. Trubiquity has more than 6,000 customers in 40 countries, with more than 80 global sales partners. As Autoweb, in 2008 the company was named one of the “Michigan 50 Companies to Watch” by the Edward Lowe Foundation as well as a “Michigan Economic Bright Spot” by Corp! magazine.

Trubiquity’s customers are some of the world’s leading companies and their suppliers, including BMW, Chrysler, Ford, General Motors, Mitsubishi and Nissan, as well as BAE Systems, Behr, Federal Mogul, Hella, Honeywell Aerospace, Johnson Controls, Lear, Metaldyne and Visteon.
