Detroit (WWJ) -- More fans will be able to watch Detroit Tigers baseball at Comerica Park this year. The Detroit Tigers have added 778 seats to Comerica Park bringing capacity to more than 41-thousand.
The new seats have been added on risers along the main concourse and in newly created sections near the Dew Deck/Pepsi Porch in right field. The seats in the new locations will cost between 12 and 25-dollars each.
"With the unprecedented demand for Tigers tickets in 2008, we have been looking for opportunities to increase our seating capacity without impacting the aesthetics of Comerica Park," said Tigers President, CEO & General Manager David Dombrowski in a statement.
The Tigers home opener is Monday, March 31st against the Kansas City Royals.
New Seating Locations & Costs include:
Riser Sections at 112, 113, 141, 142, 143: $25
Riser Sections at 144, 147, 148: $15
Riser Sections at 104, 105, 107, 109 & Auxiliary Sections on Dew Deck/Pepsi Porch: $12

Meanwhile, a new Detroit Regional Chamber report said the regular season for the Tigers will bring in over 277-million dollars to the area. The analysis assumes Comerica Park will be sold out for all home games and looks at direct spending and employment.
"The economic activity of another great Tigers season is a very positive force for the Detroit Region," said Tammy J. Carnrike, COO of the Detroit Regional Chamber.
