Thomson-Shore Launches New Web Site

Thomson-Shore Inc., a Dexter-based book manufacturer, launched a new Web site this month at www.thomsonshore.com.

The new site enables visitors to tour of the company; browse a blog about book manufacturing; participate in educational Webinars; download the latest newsletter; login to the password-protected customer extranet; and find information about Thomson-Shore, the book printing process, and the company’s environmental initiatives.

Visitors can also find their sales person through an interactive, worldwide map and request cost estimates.

Thomson-Shore staff members maintain the site through Bulldog CMS, the proprietary content management system from Ann Arbor Web developers Inner Circle Media. A Ruby on Rails application, Bulldog CMS allows Web administrators to easily update site content and navigation.

Inner Circle also provides design, implementation, Flash development and copy-writing. Site photography was provided by InMotion Studios of Ann Arbor).

Since 1972, Thomson-Shore has provided expert book manufacturing services to trade and professional publishers, university and religious presses and self publishers. The company specializes in short to medium run soft and hard cover books. Thomson-Shore is employee-owned and was the first printing manufacturer to become a member of the Green Press Initiative. In 2007, Thomson-Shore became Forest Stewards Council certified, which means their papers meet the highest social and environmental standards.

Founded in 2001, Inner Circle Media is a women-owned firm providing Web development, graphic design, and multimedia services to for-profit companies and nonprofit organizations in education, research, health care, and arts & culture. Clients include Saint Joseph Mercy Health System, the Ann Arbor Area Chamber of Commerce, the Center for Automotive Research, and the University of Michigan.
