Syntel Gets New Gig With California Developer

Newport Beach, Calif.-based TriZetto Group Inc. (NASDAQ: TZIX) last week announced a three-year, renewable contract with Troy-based Syntel Inc. (NASDAQ: SYNT) to become a key TriZetto multisourcing partner. The Syntel relationship provides greater flexibility and capacity in TriZetto’s new product development, professional services delivery and hosted services for its payer customers and strengthens 24x7 operations and services.

TriZetto’s multisourcing approach combines on-shore, near-shore and off-shore resources to provide IT services for payers. Syntel replaces former partners including Cognizant Technology Solutions, whose relationship was terminated in early 2007.

A provider of IT and business process outsourcing services, Syntel assists core product and custom development, functional and performance testing, operations support for hosted customers, process workflow modeling and report development. Syntel resources are being trained and certified on the latest versions of TriZetto’s product line.

Syntel personnel also participate in a TriZetto-led mentoring program, and use TriZetto’s development and product implementation accelerators. This approach augments TriZetto certified professionals in the United States, Mexico and India and strengthens the “follow-the-sun” model for TriZetto’s development and hosting centers, as well as professional services.

Syntel is a global provider of integrated IT and knowledge process outsourcing solutions. TriZetto provides IT that enables payers and other constituents in the health care supply chain to improve the coordination of benefits and care for health care consumers.
