Students Create TV Commercials to Win Scholarship

Southfield (WWJ)  -- High school students from grades 9-12 are invited by Courageous Persuaders to win thousands of dollars in scholarship money. Seven scholarships are available to Michigan students, ranging from $500 to $3000.

Students must create a 30-second TV commercial that targets the dangers of underage drinking. The grand prize-winning commercial will be aired on TV and the winning team will work with the McCann Erickson advertising agency, the world’s largest multinational advertising agency system, to upgrade their airing spot.

Registration is simple. Visit this link and fill out an on-line entry form and later, upload completed commercials.  Mailing in commercials in VHS or DVD format is also accepted.  The website also offers helpful hints such as music choices, tips from experts and complete competition rules.

All video entries must be submitted by February 11, 2009.
