Bingham Farms health info exchange hires partnership boss: My1HIE LLC Wednesday announced the hiring of Terrisca Des Jardins, as its new director of strategic partnerships. Terrisca comes to my1HIE from the Greater Detroit Area Health Council's Save Lives Save Dollars initiative where she served most recently as director. Des Jardins served a lead role in building strategic relationships with key regional, state, national and international organizations to advance the work of SLSD which is now nationally recognized as one of the leading regional collaboratives across the country in accelerating health care reform efforts at a local level. Des Jardins provided direction to work areas related to performance measurement and public reporting, differential payment, quality improvement collaboratives, disparities, program assessment and fund development. Among other accomplishments, Des Jardins led work on Michigan's first-ever (and one of the first in the country), multi-payer physician organization performance report. Prior to joining GDAHC in January 2007, des Jardins was an independent consultant for more than five years. She provided consultation to numerous state and national organizations, foundations, and government agencies. From 1993 through May of 2001, Des Jardins was employed by Health Management Associates as Consultant and then Senior Consultant where her focus of work was on Medicaid and underserved populations where she provided expert consultation to public and private organizations as well as foundations. Des Jardins holds a master's degree in health services administration from the University of Michigan and a bachelor's degree from James Madison College at Michigan State University. She is also a graduate of the Executive Program in Managed Care at the University of Missouri. My1HIE is a health information exchange, developed by physicians, focused on using technology to facilitate clinical information sharing between physicians and other healthcare entities to improve patient care.
