Neelav Hajra Named as President & CEO of NEW: Ann Arbor-based Nonprofit Enterprise at Work Inc. this week announced the appointment of Neelav Hajra as NEW's next president and CEO. Hajra joined NEW in 2001 and has served as NEW's COO since 2004. His appointment is effective as of July 16. Hajra, 35, succeeds Susan Katz Froning, who will join the W.K. Kellogg Foundation in August. As COO, Hajra has overseen NEW's internal operations and also has been deeply involved in delivering NEW services to nonprofits. Hajra co-developed and currently manages npServ, a first-of-its-kind nonprofit technology support service that combines open source and thin client technologies. This innovative and highly affordable program allows NEW to deliver faster, more reliable IT service to nonprofits at an affordable cost. Prior to joining NEW in 2001, Hajra represented Ford Motor Company as an attorney in the global business operations group. He has a bachelor's degree in physics and a law degree from the University of Michigan. He currently serves on the board of the NonprofitCenters Network, a national community of nonprofits dedicated to supporting the creation and operation of quality nonprofit office and program space. Walsh names new executive VP and chief academic officer: Robert L. Minter will join Walsh College as executive vice president and chief academic officer, effective August 18. He had been a professor and dean of the College of Businessat DelawareStateUniversity in Dover. "Dr. Minter brings an impressive range of experience to Walsh," Walsh President Stephanie Bergeron said. "He has more than 25 years of experience as a college business dean for public and private universities, has supported online program development, offered onsite corporate programs, and led various centers of excellence for professional development." Minter returns to Michigan after having served as professor and dean of the School of Management at the University of Michigan-Dearborn and as professor and director of staff development at the Eastern Michigan University School of Business. He also worked for Detroit Edison Co. as administrator of Management and Professional Development Programs and as an Organizational Development Consultant. He earned Bachelor and Master of Arts degrees in interpersonal communication from Miami University of Ohio. His doctoral degree is in organizational communication, organizational behavior, and industrial relations from PurdueUniversity.
