WWJ Newsradio 950 is once again a proud sponsor of the St. Mary's Polish Country Fair, the largest high school fair in the country. Admission to the St. Mary’s Polish Country Fair is free.
Fair Facts
- The St. Mary’s Polish Country Fair is held on the campus of the historical Orchard Lake St. Mary’s Preparatory located at the corner of Orchard Lake and Commerce Roads in Orchard Lake, Michigan. The event is produced by the St. Mary’s Preparatory Moms and Dads Club, a 501(C3) non-profit organization.
- The fair originated in 1972. More than 125,000 people attended the 2006 event! More than 1,000 parent and student volunteers work 8,000 hours to staff 1,500 shifts during the four-day event.
- Event Proceeds: The Polish Country Fair is the major fundraising event for Orchard Lake St. Mary’s Preparatory. The fair proceeds support operating expenses, capital improvements, and students at St. Mary’s Preparatory.
- The St. Mary’s Polish Country Fair, in conjunction with Mid-America Shows, offers more than 45 carnival rides for all ages. The carnival midway is second in size only to the Michigan State Fair.
Things to see and do at the fair
Rides, games, carnival midway, huge variety of great foods, Home & Garden Expo, Arts & Crafts vendors, Dancing, Live Entertainment, Vegas and Bingo Tents. Attendees can stroll around the beautiful grounds and landscaped gardens of the 110-acre Orchard Lake St. Mary’s Campus.
Things to eat at the fair
The Polish Combo (a selection of pierogi, stuffed cabbage, kielbasa and sauerkraut), hamburgers, corn dogs, hot dogs, French fries, cotton candy, popcorn, candy apples, snow-cones, smoothies, beer, wine, soda, ice cream, baked goods, and much more.
