Sprint PCS Affiliate Adds Push-To-Talk In Saginaw

Schaumburg, Ill.-based iPCS Inc. (Nasdaq: IPCS), a Sprint PCS Affiliate of Sprint Nextel Corp., Monday announced it has begun offering push-to-talk service on phones using Qualcomm’s Q-Chat technology in Saginaw.

This service, first offered last fall in the company’s largest market of Grand Rapids, allows customers to make push-to-talk calls using the CDMA network. This service enhances the company’s ability to attract high value business enterprise and service trade customers desiring both push-to-talk functionality and features such as high speed data service in one device.

“We are excited about the launch of Q-Chat as it allows us to offer instant connections to work and social groups who rely on this service,” said Timothy M. Yager, president and CEO of iPCS. “In addition to delivering instantaneous connectivity, this service also adds the speed of Sprint Mobile Broadband, so customers can do more, faster," concluded Yager.
